Overview
DreamsList ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
Information We Collect
We may collect: email address, name and profile information (via Google Sign-In), information you voluntarily submit (such as dream entries, photos, captions, and journal reflections), and first-party engagement data (such as streaks, milestones, and progress you record within the app). We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. If you provide a phone number for contact-based friend discovery, it is used solely for that purpose and is never shared, sold, or used for marketing. If you choose to use the "Find friends from contacts" feature, we process hashed contact data (irreversible cryptographic hashes of phone numbers and email addresses) solely to find matches among existing users. We never receive or store the raw names, phone numbers, or email addresses from your contact list.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to create and manage your account, provide app features, improve the service, communicate updates, send occasional marketing communications, and maintain security.
Google Sign-In
If you sign in with Google, we may receive your name, email, and profile image, used solely for authentication and account management.
Dream Map and Optional Location
Dream Map uses Google Maps and Google Places to show maps and help you select a place for a shared memory. Your search text and selected place reference are sent through Base44 to Google. If you choose nearby suggestions, a one-time device position is used for that request. You can search manually without allowing location access.
We store the place you select for the memory, rather than automatically attaching your device position. Place IDs link memories to venues. Provider venue coordinates are cached temporarily and removed after expiry. Dream Map does not build a background location history or show a friend's live position.
Adding a location and showing a memory on Dream Map are optional. Existing post privacy applies. You can change or remove a location, or turn off its map visibility, from Edit post.
Google Maps processes information under the
Google Privacy Policy.
Contacts
If you choose to use "Find friends from contacts," Dreams List reads the names and phone numbers or email addresses stored on your device solely to check which of your contacts already use Dreams List.
Contact details are converted into irreversible cryptographic hashes on your device before they are sent to us. We never receive, store, or have access to the actual names, phone numbers, or email addresses in your contact list. The hashes are used only to find matches and are discarded immediately afterwards.
We do not use your contacts for advertising, we do not sell or share them with third parties, and we do not message anyone in your contacts on your behalf. Invitations are only ever sent by you, from your own device, using your own messaging app.
Access to contacts is entirely optional. Dreams List works fully without it, and you can revoke access at any time in your device settings.
Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share with trusted third-party providers for hosting and operations. We may also disclose information when required by law.
Data Security
We implement reasonable safeguards to protect your information. However, no internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your private data (dreams, journal entries, reflections, and profile) is permanently removed. Public contributions such as feed posts, comments, and pulses are anonymised so that conversation threads remain intact. Contact hashes used for friend discovery are not retained after matching is complete.
Your Rights
You may request to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or opt out of marketing communications at any time. To unsubscribe from our newsletter, visit our

Children's Privacy
The service is not intended for individuals under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us so we can delete it.
Dream Rewards
If you set up Dream Rewards, we collect your name, shipping address and apparel size so we can send your reward. We use it only to fulfil rewards. It is visible to you and our fulfilment team, never to other members, and is never sold or shared. You can remove it at any time from Dream Points, and it is deleted with your account.
AI Features
Some features of Dreams List use artificial intelligence to generate suggestions, such as dream ideas, milestone breakdowns, and personalised coaching prompts. When you use these features, information from your profile (such as your display name, archetype, onboarding answers, and dream descriptions) may be sent to a third-party model provider via our platform provider, Base44, to generate a response. AI output is a suggestion only; you remain responsible for any decisions or actions you take based on it. We do not use AI to make automated decisions that significantly affect you.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.
